Another German tunnel will join those already protected against negative impacts of water by our tunnel membranes.
Having earlier successfully participated in road tunnel projects Oberau and Aubergtunnel, JUTA a.s. was chosen as the supplier of hydroinsulation multilayer system for another similar structure – Bertoldshofen tunnel.
A single-tube tunnel with one lane running in each direction is a part of newly constructed 8,5-km-long bypasses of Bertoldshofen a Marktoberdorf on the B 16 a B 472 roadways. The new tunnel will be 600 m long and the overall project costs will amount to approx. 36 mil. EUR. It is scheduled to be put into operation in 2021.
The tunnel was bored using the so-called New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM). A hydroinsulation multilayer consisting of two products of JUTA a.s. (JUNIFOL FT – a hydroinsulation polyolefin-based-membrane 3,2 mm thick with white signal layer on the inner side + geoNETEX ZTV/RIL – a polypropylene non-woven geotextile with area weight of 950 g/m2, a material fulfilling protective and drainage functions) is installed in between the primary and secondary tunnel lining. This insulation multilayer system protects the construction, interior environment and technological equipment of the tunnel against water.
